Notes

Review of Actions

Looking at the issue of flux conversion. MG noted that elements of the conversion could be carried out within VOSpec. Documentation for VOSpec and its current capablities is required.

AW will check current DS4 ESO plans on flux conversion work and SEDs in Stage3. The SED tool will be a generic web service infrastructure capability.

AMSR sent some example spectra and models (to MT) to use for starting on a chi2 minimisation tool. MG noted that TopCat should be able to handle errors.

AMSR suggested that some specific use cases requiring error handling would be good.

Test Cases

  • VotcSciStageTwo: Stellar Case. AMSR + MG + AW will work to move this forward. Work in ESO for a few days from 3 May.
    • ACTION AMSR - get MOCASSIN integrated into the CEA, also check progress on wrapping of STILTS into the CEA.
  • Cluster case.
    • EGS, NW, MA, GL - now will need to sit down and work on this. A few applications are needed to be wrapped.

  • NW will create two wiki pages for the two cases - further work to be developed from those pages. These will be linked from VotcSFD. EGS will email plan of action for work on this case to subgroup - NW, MA, GL.

Science Framework Document preparation - due date Jun 2006.

  • NW will compose a full draft and then seek input from the Science Team. Aim for completion by 14 Apr.

Stage 3 Planning

* It was AGREED that the comments noted in VotcTele20060315 woul dbe brought forward to the Stage3 TAP meeting.

Euro-VO SAC

  • 1st meeting will be 27+28 Apr 2006. NW, MA, MG all attend. 1st meeting will be an orientation meeting. SAC will meet twice per year. Hopefully some of the SAC could develop the two main science themes that we are currently pursuing in this early stage. Hasinger is PI for the X-ray part of the COSMOS programme - so maybe interested in elements of the cluster case.

Next Meeting

  • 21 Apr 2006 10am BST (11am CEST) - main item SFD progress.
