Agenda:

1 Review of DS plans for Stage 06

  • SFD published at VotcSFD
  • All Stage 06 plans look good.

2 Science Verification of VOTC services and apps

  • Server side focus for stage 6.
    • aim at expanding the Extragalactic workflow. Look at access to SDSS and UKIDSS, cross match, then VOneural to generate redshifts
    • create a workflow to support this
    • will test use of a large application running on the Italian Grid - thus ability to pass user certificates from e.g. a Taverna workflow to the application running on a Grid
    • timescale: coordination between Italy/UK on certificate work
  • Pointers to key services/ apps
    • Existing: Aladin, TopCat?, VOSpec, Visivo
    • Emerging: VOExtractor (Naples), VONeural, multicone searches (stiltsxmatch),
    • Interfaces: VODesktop, VirGO
    • Workflow: python scripts, taverna workflows, jlow workflows
    • Other: Paperscope
  • Test cases:
    • common fields - CDFS, GOODS, LMC, Orion, 30Dor, M13
    • standard query, and display result (image/table) to a plastic tool

3 Input to Euro-VO DCA workshop - Summer 08

  • Focus of the DCA workshop (23-27 Jun 2007) will be on publishing data - thus there will be limited science input. Thus only a few examples of how astronomers use some typical VO functionality.

4 AOB

  • Need for an acknowledgement statement of use of Euro-VO developed tools.
