1 Review of DS plans for Stage 05

There was a discussion of the key tools and capabilities as presented in the Stage 5 planning sessions. Particular comment involved:

• Best fitting tool - yafit
  • how does this relate to the SED builder - what is 'J' band - where do you pick up the wavelength definition
  • std defining photometric system
  • challenge - choose top five catalogues - can a query of those be done that returns accurate flux/wavelength info?
• see odp file - shows the SED builder - and the use of a 'stellarium' based image resource browser

Update of SFD

NW noted that a near final draft of the SFD is now available at VotcSFD

Brief 'show and tell': key science activity currently pre-occupying each participant

• • MA: SAADA databases and their integration to the VO - thus enabling local astronomers to publish their own data and make this accessible via VO interfaces through a local database.
  • AW @ ESO - working on the footprint service - these are transmitted as a VOTable.
  • JAT - utilising existing VO tools to support the SWIFT archive in Leicester - adding links to Astroscope to search external archives around a new GRB candidate.

The issue of a lack of availability of some key 'European leve' science data was noted. AW reported that HARPS and UVES spectra from ESO should be available in the next year via standard SSAP access protocols.
