The VOTechKickoff meeting will allow persons interested in the development of Virtual Observatory technology to meet, discuss and suggest avenues which the VOTech project might explore.

Submissions cannot be accepted for any more talks but if you still want your ideas to be considered by the VOTech Technical Advisory Panel, please still submit them to TonyLinde and we'll include the paper in the pdf 'proceedings'.

The remit of the VOTech project is to conduct Design Studies in the areas of:

  • DS3: Infrastructure
  • DS4: User Tools
  • DS5: Resource Discovery
  • DS6: Data Mining and Visualisation

We invite interested parties to submit presentations for the VOTechKickoff meeting about topics with which the VOTech project might engage. Such topics might include (but are not limited to):

  • approaches to single signon infrastructure
  • tools that make use of VObs capabilities
  • how to derive semantic resource information from existing structures
  • visualisation approaches to data mining
  • ...

If you would like to be considered for making a presentation to the VOTechKickoff meeting, please email Tony Linde with:

  • your name and affiliation
  • topic title and abstract (up to 100 words)
  • session(s) topic comes under (DS3, DS4, DS5, DS6)

If accepted, you will be expected to travel to the meeting at your own (or your institute's) expense to give your presentation and to contribute an explanatory page to this wiki (at VOTechKickoffSubmissions).
