DS6 Stage02 Plan

Listed below are the Stage02 activities of each of the DS6 teams.

CDS

• Continued development of VisIVO/CDS interface: consolidation of coding and use in example science cases
• Implement new extensions to IVOA DAL and Characterisation Data Model standards
• Start k-d tree work with BobNichol^?
• (Seek VOTECH collaborator for on-going multiband imaging research)

Napoli

• Distribution of portable version of Astroneural
• Implement some existing Astroneural routines as web services
• VisIVO/Astroneural interoperability

Catania

• Port of VisIVO to linux
• VisIVO/Astroneural interoperability
• New VOTable reader for VisIVO
• Further VisIVO/CDS interoperability work

Portsmouth

• Scalability and usability testing of broker with large-scale N-point code and an extended hardware testbed
• Collaboration with Edinburgh on running KDE code with broker

Leeds

• Study methods for reducing size (no. of rows and no. of columns) of data sets prior to visualization
• Assess prototype tools with astronomical data

Edinburgh

• Work with Portsmouth on running KDE application using broker
• Develop interface between database and k-d trees (through DSA extension?)

Additional Cross-DS6 activity:

• PLASTIC: develop protocol for tool interoperability using ACR into IVOA draft
