DS4 Vision, Dolensky

• DS4 group revised and agreed on scope
• NAW - inputs will come from SWG as well as the VO Facility Centres - the scientific user community.
• Video conferening facilities
  • www.skype.com - might be able to accomodate our needs if we actually purchase service, rather than use the freeware version.
• NAW what should be done for the EUROVO summer school?

CDS Proposal for Iteration 1, Boch

• Interfacing Aladin with other systems/tools.
  • Data and functional interfaces.
• Improved cross identification tools.
• NAW - what is the scope of Aladin development? Is there a danger in that it tries to do everything?
  • TB - the plugin architecture is intended to allow specialisms to be added by 3rd parties.

VOTECH Science priorities for DS4, Walton

• PAH what is the scope of this group?
  • This group should be about the astronomical science - supply inputs to the DS3 infrasctructure group to do the computer science.
  • A workflow capture tool should be DS3 definitely.
  • what is the status of integration with existing tools/applications - e.g. IRAF/AIPS - there is some overlap here.
  • RMM produce inclusive list and not worry about the boundaries too much at this stage as long as they are managed in the future to stop duplication/ommision of tasks.
• RMM Registry visualization tool? Make a tool to enable you to see sky boundaries of data returned by a query/contained in the registry.

VO Tool List, Dolensky

• Cross matching - choose for the first tool?
  • need errors - elliptical search radii
  • need other cross matching criteria - magnitude etc.
  • need to consider what can be done when not all in the same memory space
