VOTECH is a project under the EuroVO TechnologyCentre (VOTC). Public information (as opposed to this internal collaborative site) can be found at the official VOTECH web site

The project is divided up into a set of Design Study areas:

• DS1: DesignStudyManagement
• DS2: TechnicalProjectManagement
• DS3: (New) InfraStructure
• DS4: (New) UserTools
• DS5: (Intelligent) ResourceDiscovery
• DS6: DataExploration (Data Mining and Visualization)

The project will be organised into six-monthly Stages followed by a close-out phase :

• StageOne (Jan 2005 - Sep 2005)
• StageTwo (Oct 2005 - Mar 2006)
• StageThree (Apr 2006 - Sep 2006)
• StageFour (Oct 2006 - Mar 2007)
• StageFive (Apr 2007 - Sep 2007)
• StageSix (Oct 2007 - Mar 2008)
• StageSeven (Apr 2008 - Sep 2008)
• StageEight (Oct 2008 - Dec 2008)
• CloseOut (Jan2009 - May 2009)

A number of groups will be constituted to help and enable us to run the project effectively:

• ProjectBoard: the leaders of each partner in the VOTech consortium
• TechManagement: the team charged with managing the project on a daily basis
• ScienceTeam: with one scientist from each DS area, will form the internal science team
• TechAdPanel (TAP): the Technical Advisory Panel
  will monitor progress of workgroups towards iteration goals, assess completion of those goals and then set goals for the next iteration
• WorkGroups: each DS area above will have its own workgroup,
  • headed by the DsLeaders

Note 2007-Oct : the Forum is now largely moribund
