VOTech Kickoff Meeting
The VOTech project kicked off with a meeting on
Nov 18-19, 2004 at the
IoA in
Cambridge, UK.
Aims
The aims of the meeting are:
- for participants to get to know one another
- to discuss priority work within the Work Packages
Call for Submissions
We invite participants to give short presentations on topics which they feel VOTech project might address. See

Day 1
all presentations today in the Earth Sciences lecture room (in the Bullard Building, Dept of Earth Sciences, Madingley Road - just past the Hoyle building -

Please note that room allocations have been changed after Day 1
Meeting Arrangements
Meeting Equipment
Wireless networking will be available in the Hoyle lecture theatre and the Hoyle committee rooms. There will be a fixed line available in the Earth sciences meeting room. Digital projectors and OHPs will be provided.
Location
The meeting will be held in two main locations: the Earth Science building (in the Bullard Building, Dept of Earth Sciences, Madingley Road - just past the Hoyle building -
see 11 on map) and the Hoyle building - primarily the Sacker Lecture Theatre - a
map of the IoA gives the local locations.
Lectures on day one and the morning of day two will be in the Earth Science lecture room. Lectures for the afternoon of day two will be in the Hoyle's Sackler lecture theatre.
Breakout meetings for either day one or two will be held either in the Hoyle committee room.

Accommodation
It would be good if you could arrange your own accomodation if needed for this meeting. The Cambridge tourist office has an
extensive accommodation page.
Cambridge hotels are also listed - the Cambridge Lodge Hotel is the closest to the
IoA - a 10 minute walk. Another recommended hotel is the Arundel House. This is
a healthy 20 minute walk from the IOA but convenient for the historic city centre.
